How to protect yourself from COVID-19

Coronavirus causes typical respiratory symptoms. The following are the main recommendations:

Wash your hands often with soap and water or clean them by rubbing them with alcohol-based cleaners;
When coughing or sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with an elbow punch or paper towel. Immediately throw the paper scarf in the trash and then wash your hands;
Avoid close contact with anyone who has a fever and cough;
Keep a certain distance – at least one meter – from other people, especially when coughing or sneezing or if they have a fever, because the virus is found in saliva sprays and can be transmitted through short-distance breathing.
See your doctor if you have a cough, fever or difficulty breathing and report the history of the trip if you have recently traveled;
Avoid contact with live animal markets in areas that have Coronavirus and prevent unprotected contact with live animals or surfaces that have been in contact with animals;
Avoid consuming overcooked or undercooked meat products. Meat, raw milk or animal organs should be handled with care, using protective equipment in order to avoid contamination;
Travelers who have had contact with confirmed cases or direct exposure to a potential source of infection should be placed under medical observation. High-risk contacts should avoid trips for the incubation period of up to 14 days;
Remember that there are several causes of respiratory diseases and the new Coronavirus can be one of them. If you have mild symptoms and have not been in China recently, stay at home until the symptoms are alleviated by applying hygienic measures, which include hand and respiratory hygiene.
